About Me
My life began in the arcade. I have vivid memories of playing pinball when I was three years old, but at the time I had no idea that playing these machines would turn me into the person I am today. I started designing my own pinball games on the computer when I was 13 and it became clear to me that there is much more to designing a game than just a good concept. I needed artwork and music to accompany my games, so I went ahead and learned how to use Photoshop and write electronic music that hard way – by grinding it out with no knowledge whatsoever and discovering techniques along the way.
I’ve been inspired by some pretty unique people, such as Python Anghelo and Doug Watson, who were both artists that worked on pinball games. Game music composers like Chris Granner and Brian Schmidt, both of whom I interviewed for Gameroom Magazine a few years ago, have also been a big inspiration for me. Also, Joe Kaminkow is another inspiration worth mentioning, since he was a pinball designer who made the transition to the slot machine industry and made a huge impact there.
My goal is to design slot machines because I feel that there is still so much potential for these games to become an even greater form of entertainment than they already are.
Besides the gaming world, I’ve also been involved in theatre. I’ve been both on stage and off, working as a sound designer and composer for productions at Hofstra University (where I recently graduated with a degree in Design). I became an Eagle Scout in 2006. Early in 2009, I had my first art gallery which featured some of my cartoon graphics. I also designed graphics for the off broadway production The Smoking Diary later that year.
I’m not an artist who’s trying to fulfill a vision or send a message; I just want to make fun games that people will enjoy.
